A one-off deep clean in Harrow starts at £186: two cleaners working three hours at £26 an hour each (£156), plus £30 for the machines and chemicals we bring. It is always at least a pair, for at least three hours. Our weekly cleaning is a separate service with its own rates.
Building up the price
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Each cleaner, per hour | £26 |
| Kit and detergents, per visit | £30 |
| Two cleaners, three hours | £186 |
| Two cleaners, four hours | £238 |
| Three cleaners, three hours | £264 |
The kit charge is per visit, whatever the length, and it’s dropped if you’d like us to use your own vacuum and products. Each extra hour with two cleaners adds £52. A four bedroom house with a converted loft usually wants three people, which for three hours is £264.
We charge by the cleaner-hour because deep cleans vary so much. A tidy two bed flat is three hours. A house let out for six years without the landlord ever visiting needs longer, and pricing by the cleaner-hour means you pay for the time your home actually needs.
Most of the time goes on the wet rooms
Roughly two thirds of the hours go on the kitchen and bathrooms. Here, that means descaler on every tap, screen, tile joint and shower tray at the start and a second round later, because chalky water leaves a crust that one wipe just polishes. Cupboards are emptied and cleaned inside. Extractor filters come out. We pull out whatever can be pulled out and clean behind and beneath it, so expect to be reunited with a fork you lost years ago.
Elsewhere it’s skirtings, door frames and door tops, light fittings, radiators, internal glass, and the tops of wardrobes and kitchen units. Each room’s floor is done last, and on a house with a straight Metroland staircase the stairs are the final job.
Cooking film on the kitchen ceiling
This is the thing Harrow customers underestimate most. Daily frying with oil and spices leaves a tacky coat on the hood, the tiles and the ceiling over the hob, and you can’t really see it until half has come off and there’s a line. It takes degreaser, time to soak and a second pass. In a house that cooks a lot, a first deep clean should budget an hour for the ceiling and hood alone.
After the builders leave
Extensions are everywhere in this borough, and builders’ dust isn’t like household dust. It’s very fine and slightly abrasive, and it keeps settling for a day or two after you think you’re done. So a post-build clean starts with filtered vacuums and gets a second going-over once the air has cleared.
Paint on frames, silicone smeared on tiles and adhesive on floors come off wherever they can. Carpets full of plaster dust are best booked for a carpet clean a couple of days later, once the dust has stopped falling.
Regular cleaning or a move-out clean instead
If what you need is someone for three hours a week, regular housework at £23 an hour is far cheaper across a year. A deep clean is a reset: before moving in, after visitors, after building work, or when a house has been left to itself. Plenty of customers book one and then start weekly visits a fortnight later.
Moving out of an empty property is a different case. The end of tenancy clean has a set price by size (£339 for three bedrooms), and on a three bed house that works out well below the cleaner-hours the same work would take.
Common reasons to book
A move-in where the last tenant left in a rush. The end of a loft conversion or side return, once the tools have gone. A house about to go on the market. Or a long stretch where nobody had the time, which is the real reason behind about half of ours. There is no seasonal rush on these the way there is on ovens before Christmas.
Access
Leave us a wide arrival window, since deep cleans vary more than any other job. Parking, where a street needs it, is charged at the actual cost.
The same rate applies out to South Harrow and Harrow Weald, and our home page lists the rest.
Questions we get asked
How much is a one-off deep clean in Harrow?
From £186. That’s two cleaners for three hours at £26 an hour each, plus £30 for equipment and products. Three cleaners for three hours is £264.
How many hours will my home need?
A two bed flat in decent order is usually three hours for two people, so £186. A four bed with a loft conversion normally needs a third cleaner, £264 for three hours. We work it out with you on the phone.
Is this the same as having a regular cleaner?
No. Regular cleaning is one person at £23 an hour on a weekly rota, keeping a clean house clean. A deep clean is a team of two or more at £26 an hour each, going through everything in one go.
Do you clean up after building work?
Yes, it’s a common booking here with so many lofts and side returns. We vacuum before wiping and go back over everything once the fine dust has settled.
Can I avoid the £30 kit charge?
Yes, if you’d like us to work with your own vacuum and products. Tell us when booking and the £30 comes off.
