Pinner is HA5, just west of Harrow and outside the three postcodes we cover every day. It’s two stops along the Metropolitan line from Harrow-on-the-Hill, and we’re there often enough that it costs you nothing extra. There’s the old village in the middle and interwar suburbs all around it, and the two are very different jobs.
Old buildings in the village
The older buildings in the centre are awkward the way old buildings always are. Floors that slope, timber that has shifted, sash windows with paint in the joints, stairs built long before anyone carried a vacuum up them. We go easy on water around old timber. Original tiled halls get a test patch before any machine goes near them, and on a listed building we’d sooner ask twice than guess.
The interwar roads around it
Away from the centre the houses are the same interwar stock as the rest of the area, on wider roads and usually with a drive. Those are easy days. Carpets are £36 per bedroom, £43 for a living room and £61 for a through lounge, with the machine parked outside.
Bathrooms need descaling here like everywhere else. The chalk water doesn’t stop at the HA5 line, and a shower screen in Pinner scales up just like one in Wealdstone.
Outside the new licensing schemes
Harrow’s six selective licensing schemes cover Edgware, Roxeth, Greenhill, Marlborough and the two Wealdstone wards, and none of them includes Pinner. Rentals here are mostly whole houses let to families through local agents, and the work reflects it: fewer single rooms, more full-house move-out cleans.
| Property | Price |
|---|---|
| Studio | £156 |
| 1 bedroom | £207 |
| 2 bedrooms | £243 |
| 3 bedrooms | £339 |
| 4 bedrooms | £425 |
An oven can be added to any of those for £31. Family lets here tend to be long, so the move-out often follows several years of cooking and showering. We allow for that in the time, and the price stays as listed. Carpets are the most common extra on these jobs, since the interwar houses still have plenty of fitted carpet upstairs, and booked with the move-out they drop to £29 a bedroom and £36 a living room.
Getting to you
There’s no extra charge for coming out to HA5. Oven cleaning starts at £77, weekly cleaning is £23 an hour per cleaner, and a deep clean starts at £186 for a pair over three hours. We’re usually in North Harrow the same day, so Pinner jobs that fit that round are easy to slot in. Send us your postcode and we’ll tell you plainly whether it’s this week or next. Our areas page shows the rest of the patch, and the home page has prices for everything.
